An open coastal terrace arranged for a different pace of life

Empty nest

The last one left in August. The house has not caught up.

Four bedrooms, two people, and a set of routines built entirely around somebody who does not live here any more.

What actually changes

A life is a system. When one part changes, everything changes — which is why solving these one at a time so rarely works.

01

Two rooms became storage

Not deliberately. Nobody decided it. They simply stopped being bedrooms and nobody has said out loud what they are now, so they are nothing, and you walk past them daily.

02

The two of you are new again

You have not had dinner alone regularly in twenty years. That is not a problem, but it is a change, and the house should be arranged for the people actually in it.

03

This is the easiest one to enjoy

Of all the transitions, this is the one with the least grief and the most possibility — and the one people most often waste by leaving everything exactly as it was.

Usually the right fit

The Reset

The work is mostly in the house, so it wants someone in the house.
